Albertus Seba (1665-1736) was a Dutch pharmacist, zoologist and collector. He amassed one of the largest cabinets of curiosities of his time. In 1734, he published the first volume of his Thesaurus with beautiful engravings of animal specimens. The second volume was published in 1735 and additional volumes being published, after his death, in 1758 and 1765.
